Life Videos (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a private, secure video hub for organizations, teams, and schools. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

📥 Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign in with Google (Auth.js), we receive your basic profile details (name, email, avatar) to create and manage your account.
Organization & Roles: We store your membership and role (viewer, editor, admin) across one or more organizations.
Content & Metadata: Titles, descriptions, channel names, thumbnails, and other metadata you create or upload.
Usage: Basic product analytics (e.g., page views, actions) to improve reliability and UX.

🔗 Google OAuth & Google Drive Permissions

If you connect Google Drive, we use the official Google Picker so you can choose files from your Drive. Our OAuth scopes are limited to: openid email profile https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.

📂 drive.file — lets us view and manage only the files you explicitly select through the Picker. We do not access the rest of your Drive.

✅We store minimal metadata (file ID, name, thumbnail) for selected files, and we only adjust sharing you ask us to (e.g., granting/removing viewer access for your organization or private channel). We will never edit, move, or delete your Drive files. You can revoke access any time in your Google Account Permissions.

🔧 How We Use Data

Authenticate you and maintain secure sessions.
Manage organizations, channels, roles, and permissions.
Index and search video metadata for your organization(s).
Monitor, protect, and improve the service.
Communicate important updates (service, security, billing).

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted processors to run the service (e.g., hosting, databases, analytics) under appropriate data protection agreements.

🗄️ Data Retention

We retain data for as long as your account or organization remains active, or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion as described below.

🛡️ Security

We use industry practices (encryption in transit, access controls, auditing) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; we work continuously to mitigate risk.

🌍 International Transfers

Depending on your region and your organization’s configuration, data may be processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than yours.

👶 Children’s Privacy

Life Videos is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by local law). If you believe a child provided data, please contact us for removal.

🧭 Your Rights & Choices

Access, correct, or delete certain personal information.
Export available data where technically feasible.
Revoke Google permissions at any time in your Google account.
