📄 Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Life Videos (“Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. 👤 Accounts & Eligibility

  • You must have authority to enter into these Terms and comply with all applicable laws.
  • Authentication is performed via Google Sign-In (Auth.js). Keep your account secure and notify us of any unauthorized use.

2. 🏷️ Organizations, Channels & Roles

Users may belong to multiple organizations and channels with roles such as viewer, editor, or admin. Your ability to view, upload, edit, or delete content depends on your role and organization policies.

3. 🎬 Your Content

  • You retain ownership of your content. By uploading or linking content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transcode, and display it solely to operate the Service within your permitted audiences.
  • You must have the necessary rights to the content you upload or connect (e.g., Google Drive files).
  • You’re responsible for settings (public, private, global) and audience permissions in your organization.

4. 🔗 Third‑Party Services & Google Drive

Life Videos integrates with trusted providers such as Google (OAuth & Drive) and Stripe (payments). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.

Google Drive access (via Google Picker): We use the official Google Picker so you can choose files from your Drive. Our OAuth scopes are limited to: openid email profile https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file.

  • 📂 drive.file — lets us view and manage only the files you explicitly select through the Picker. We do not access the rest of your Drive.

✅We store minimal metadata (file ID, name, thumbnail) for selected files, and we only adjust sharing you ask us to (e.g., granting/removing viewer access for your organization or private channel). We will never edit, move, or delete your Drive files. You can revoke access any time in your Google Account Permissions.

5. 🚦 Acceptable Use

  • No illegal, infringing, or harmful content.
  • No attempts to bypass security or abuse API rate limits.
  • No unauthorized sharing of private organization content.
  • Respect copyright and other intellectual property rights.

6. 🔒 Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard data, including Google OAuth/Drive data.

7. ⛔ Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, legal requirements, security concerns, or to protect other users. You may stop using the Service at any time; certain obligations (e.g., payment, confidentiality, IP) may survive termination.

8. ©️ Intellectual Property

We and our licensors own the Service’s software and branding. Except for the limited rights granted to you, we reserve all rights.

9. ⚠️ Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. 🛡️ Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.

11. 🤝 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable laws.

12. 📝 Changes to the Service & Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll provide notice where required. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

13. ⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflicts of laws principles.
